The last day of high school my son Bobby ran into the house excited that he had made the decision to join the Army. He called home after arriving the first day, at Scolfield Barracks Hawaii. I was not home but my ex-husband answered the phone. Bobby was crying loudly. "I've got to talk to Mommy!! he cried over the telephone on Nov. 28th. 1981. "I've got to talk to Mommy now!! "Listen, it's time for you to grow up and be a man and cut the apron strings. If you are having a problem go see your Army Chaplain, his step father scolded him. On Dec. 3rd. I recieved a call from Bobby's captain. He told me Bobby had went AWOL(Absent Without Leave) I started crying and begging for his help. I didn't know what had happened to Bobby, only that something very strange was going on. The Captain told me Bobby's belongings were also missing. The next day I called him back, he told me Bobby's belongings were there. "There are a lot of cons here just looking for suckers like your son," he told me. Why would he call my son a sucker, I thought. He didn't know him. Then the next day I called him he changed his story back and said Bobby's suitcase and belongings were there. I kept crying begging for help. I then ask him if he would look into the suitcase and tell me what was missing out of it so I would know what Bobby was wearing at he time of his disappearnce, he refuse. I kept begging and crying for help. "Listen, Lady, I don't have time to fool with every AWOL soilder that comes across my desk. I kept begging him to fill out a missing person report on my son with the civilian police and the Military Police, he said he would, eight months later he hadn't. As of today, I still don't know where my son is. I've had pi's tell me they believe there is a cover-up of some kind. Proper Percedures were not followed in this case from the beginning, pi's have told me. What has happened to my son Bobby. What do you think? Why we are looking for them:Because I love him, his family loves him. I know if he is alive he is missing us too.
